Q: I am suffering from acute blood pressure problem. I have visited my doctor but my blood pressure does not seem to come down. My children are suggesting me to buy a blood pressure monitor. But I don't know which type of BP monitor to buy, of which company, etc. My current BP is between 220-180. Please advise me.

A:Blood pressure which is difficult to control requires to be evaluated inorder to find its cause. I would suggest that you consult your doctor for the advice and appropriate course of action. Many self blood pressure monitoring devices are available. One of them is made by the Omron group. However there are many more available. An arm blood pressuremonitoring apparatus is better than a wrist one.
