Q: I am 26yrs old working, single male. I want to know: 1. How is Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 sec (FEV1) measured in case of asthma? 2. Is it necessary to boil the milk before drinking even if it is pasteurised? I came to know that in the later part of life it creates breathing problems.
A:FEV1 can be measured using a simple lung function testing equipment called a spirometer. There is a simpler device that is available for clinical use called a vitalograph. It is safer to boil milk before consumption to prevent immediate infections.
