Q: After having mastectomy (removal of the breast) the biopsy test showed ductal breast carcinoma, Grade III, and then chemotherapy was given 5 years back. But after 4 years, the disease recurred. Chemotherapy (Intaxel - 4 cycles) was given followed by surgery and then radiation (25 days). Now it has recurred again. Now what should be the treatment?

A:Your treatment so far has been exactly on the right lines. From the limited information that you have provided, it seems that you may have to receive some more chemotherapy. However, you should ask your doctor if your tumour was positive for oestrogen receptors?
