How to manage erythema nodosum?

Q: My wife has been diagnosed to be having erythema nodosum. What are the implications? She is being treated with HCQS, Doxycycline and Trental for 8 weeks at Chennai. Is the treatment correct; will the disease be cured completely and what are the chances of recurrence?

A:Erythema nodosum can be found in a number of condtions. Some examples are:sore throat, tuberculosis, leprosy, sarcoidosis, lymphomas, drugs,enteropathies etc.The implications thus depend upon what has been found to be the underlyingdisorder. Symptomatic treatment is the same in all cases. Additional specific therapy depends upon the cause.
