Q: How to effectively manage COPD condition at 50 years of age?
A:COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary or Lung Disease) in a patient aged 50 years can usually be managed with inhaled salmeterol and fluticasone combinations and inhaled Salbutamol; if required then oral theophyllines can be added.Smoking must obviously be stopped. However there are no standard regimes and each patients treatment will have to be tailored depending on lung function assessment.
