Q: One month back I had problem in my throat with a feeling of stickiness in the throat or feeling like that something is struck in the throat. I got it checked by an ENT doctor who said that I have excessively dry throat. She prescribed Augmentin (Amoxycillin) for seven days. Despite taking the medicines, I still feel stickiness in the throat. Please advise what it may be and the remedial action?

A:Stickiness in the throat is because of the naturally produced phlegm getting thicker because of lack of humidity and water. It becomes thick and sticky like glue ...so please avoid antibiotics and start drinking plenty of water, gargle daily with warm water without salt and try steam for humidification.
