How many servings of fruits and vegetables should we take daily?

Q: Generally it is mentioned that 9 servings of fruits and vegetables should be taken everyday for healthy living. But nobody is able to satisfy me about how much is one serving? Kindly help me.

A:Vegetables usually contain 25 calories and 5 grams of carbohydrate. One serving equals:1/2 cup Cooked vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, etc.) 1 cup Raw vegetables or salad greens 1/2 cup Vegetable juice Fruits usually contain 15 grams of carbohydrate and 60 calories.One serving equals:1 small Apple, banana, chikoo, custardapple 1 medium Fresh peach, sweet lime, orange, guava 1 Plum 1/2 Grapefruit 1/2 Mango 1 cup Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries ) 1 cup Fresh watermelon cubes 1/8 th melon 4 ounces Unsweetened Juice 4 teaspoons Jelly or Jam
