How is Risedronate superior to Alendronate?

Q: It is known that Alendronate is second generation bisphosphate and Risedronate is third generation. Its also said that Risedronate is superior to Alendronate in terms of its mode of action and it acts faster. How is Risedronate sodium superior to Alendronate sodium in terms of its mode of action?
