Q: My 4-day-old baby drinks only small amount of milk. How much milk does he require at this age and how frequently should I breast-feed him?

A:Feed your baby whenever he demands a feed i.e. when he cries. On an average, babies require feed every two hours. Breast-feed him exclusively because that is the best feed possible for him that has benefits for the rest of his life.Feeding every two hours is tall order. So, conserve your energy. Eat healthy foods and take in 3000 calories per day. You need more calories now than when you were pregnant.
