Q: I am a 48 years old male diabetic patient, taking Tribet 1 mg in morning and Voglib at night. I want to know more about Voglib. Could you please tell me how does this drug work?
A:Voglib (Voglibose) is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor which delays glucose absorption at the intestine level and thereby prevents sudden surge of glucose after a meal. In essence it helps controlling the blood sugar level after meals. It would not have any significant effect on your fasting blood sugar levels.
