How do we stop a child from putting fingers into his mouth?

Q: My year old nephew has a habit of putting the fingers of both the hands into his mouth. Since he crawls, his fingers get dirty. He puts these dirty fingers into his mouth even when he is carried by his parents or anybody else. How can we stop him from doing this?

A:Keep trying to remove the fingers from the mouth. Keep his hands clean. At this age, babies will crawl and get dirty hands and they put their fingers in the mouth, this is perfectly normal. All you can do is keep the hands and the baby’s surroundings clean.
