How do I make my daughter have food?

Q: My year old daughter suffered from severe bronchiolitis last month and had been on medicines for close to two weeks. She was also given nebulization for about a week. Although she has recovered from cold completely, she is not taking any solid food. If we try to feed her forcibly, she spits it out. She also suffers from constipation at times. Please help.

A:You should consider two things. One, take care of her constipation by modifying her diet or giving her laxatives. Secondly, consider a possibility of gastroesophageal reflux disease, which may get aggravated by respiratory infections or bronchiolitis. Please consult your pediatrician, s/he should be able to help.
