How do I lower my baby's phosphorous levels?

Dr Satish Saluja
Consultant Neonatologist,
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital,
New Delhi

Q: My two months old baby has high phosphorous level. What needs to be done?

A:This is commonly seen in top fed babies especially on Formula milk or cow's milk. Try giving only breast milk. If you are forced to give Formula, NAN 1 has the least amount of phosphorus. I hope her calcium and alkaline phosphatase levels are normal.
