How do I get rid of ureteric stone?

Q: I have a stone sized 9 mm * 13 mm in the ureter 3 cm near the UV junction. What are the chances of it's removal?

A:For this stone, until you have severe pain I would go slow. If the kidney is unaffected now, I would wait with hydration and some medicines, which your urologist could prescribe. In my experience 40% of such stones would pass on their own. However, you should see a urologist to have his opinion on your current status and also to advise on how could you prevent reforming stone after this stone is taken care of. Even if your urologist feels that this stone should be removed you should not worry as over 90% of these stones could be removed through a ureteroscopy and they do not require any open surgery.
