How can ptosis following a squint surgery be treated?

Dr Rishi Mohan

Q: I am a 19 years old female suffering from ptosis of eye, redness and watering for the last three years. I underwent squint surgery in the left eye three years back and all this started after the surgery. How can ptosis be treated?

A:The type of surgery done (horizontal v/s vertical muscles surgery) can create a ptosis. Also an associated mild ptosis before the squint surgery may not be apparent, and it gets highlighted after the ocular deviation has been corrected. You associated allergies may be treated to take care of the watering/grittiness.
