How can pain in the wisdom tooth be managed?

Q: I am a 41 years old male having acute pain in my right lower wisdom teeth for the last couple of days. On examination, it was found that there is no caries but swelling of the gum, enlarged lymph node below the jaw and fever (off and on). Pain reduces on taking an analgesic. How can wisdom tooth pain be managed?
