How can I soften my beard?

Q: My beard is very hard. In the morning while shaving I can feel the hardness while trimming. It is so hard that I am unable to remove it fully from the centre of the cheeks.

A:Maybe softening the beard hair before shaving will help. Hydration of nail makes it soft. Therefore the same should work with the hair. Both the nail and hair are modified forms of skin.
