Q: I am a 29 years old female, weigh 90 kg and have been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I want to conceive now and am taking Eltroxin and Metformin. On every 20-21 day of the monthly cycle, there is a thick white discharge. Is it normal or the residual of the egg? When would I ovulate?

A:Your ovulatory status can be checked with an ultrasound between day 12 to day 16 of your periods, depending on the length of your cycle. Another method is serum progesterone estimation on day 21 of your cycle. The white discharge is not because of ovulation / egg residual.
