Q: I am 21 years old and I am about to marry my fiancée this year. Ours is a love marriage and my fiancée’s family does not accept me. She has two elder sisters, both unmarried and very attached to her. Her family is totally against our marriage due to the age gap between us and the atmosphere at our home is very disturbing and tense. Due to these circumstances, we are often depressed, feel under stress and are already suffering from health disorders. How can I reduce the stress and depression for a better health.

A:Marriage is between two adults. If they are consenting, share a mutual love and a strong bond, the issues like you have mentioned would not make a big impact. It is natural to feel the distress about family behaviour but with time this would be reduced. What is needed at this time is to maintain a good communication with each other and not let the situation make any dent in the relationship.
