How can hypothyroidism be treated?

Q: I am a 37 years old woman having thyroid problem for the last 12 years. I am taking Eltroxin twice daily. Please advise me an appropriate treatment for this.

A:You are suffering from hypothyroidism as per treatment you are taking in form of Eltroxin. Hypothyroidism is a disease with an easy treatment. Eltroxin dose should be such that TSH remains in normal range. Get your TSH done and if TSH is normal continue same treatment but if low then reduce the dose to 150 per day.
