Dr Surender Kumar

Q: I am a 36 years old diabetic patient and my triglycerides are 254. Is this a problem? Can we treat this without medicines? If medicines, let me know the name of the medicine I need to take?

A:Diabetics usually have high triglycerides (TG). First control your Blood glucose, reduce weight, reduce refined carbohydrates and oils.Do regular exercises. I am sure with this your TGs should come down. If they do not, then fenofibrate group of drugs can reduce it. For this consult your diabetologist/endocrinologist.
