Q: My friend is a diabetic patient for the last six months. He is now underweight and the doctors have told him that it is dangerous, so he needs to increase his weight. What type of food should he take to increase his weight? My wife is a thyroid patient. What type of nutrition supplements should she take?
A:For a diabetic, the body weight should be ideal. If underweight, then the calorie intake should be increased and if required anti-diabetic drugs can be increased to maintain blood sugar levels. No special nutrition is required - the usual healthy food is recommended. For a thyroid patient no special supplements are required. Just the normal food and necessary drugs.
