Heart - blockage of aorta

Q: In case of a 90% blockege of the aorta, in how much time should it be treated if the patient's condition seems stable. It is to be noted that the patient also had a major heart attack.

A:The symptoms are related to the site of obstruction, the extent of narrowing and the presence of collaterals. A 90% narrowing requires treatment. This should be discussed with the treating surgeon. Waiting will not benefit the patient.
