Q: I have been married for the past 6 years. Last week (8th August) during intercourse, my wife (31 yrs) had detected some bleeding, though her LMP was on 27-07-02. Kindly advise whether any investigation is needed. We are childless. She had an ectopic pregnancy in 1997 and her fallopian tubes were damaged badly. Later, pelvic adhesions were detected due to which Doctors say that except IVF there is no hope for pregnancy. She had undergone IVF thrice(2000 and 2001) but results were negative. Kindly let us know whether there are any future dangers for a childless woman.

A:A post coital bleeding requires a good local examination by a gynaecologist and, if required, a cone biopsy along with a hsyteroscopy. As far as long term complications in infertile women there are hardly any except those that happen in all women fertile or infertile.
