Flashes of lights
Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon,

Q: What are the causes of flashes of lights in one eye at the same spot?
A:Repeated flashes of light at the same spot in one eye at your age most likely indicates that there is traction of the vitreous gel on the retina at a particular point. This could be the beginning of a process called posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). Most of the times the vitreous separation occurs without causing any damage but in 10-15% of cases with symptomatic PVD a tear/tears may form in the retina where the vitreous is adherent to it. A combination of flashes with sudden onset of floaters/cobweb like structure in your vision would suggest that vitreous detachment has occurred. It would be advisable to see an ophthalmologist with special interest in retinal disorders. He could then advise you about the present status & frequency of follow up examination.
