Donate blood

Q: After how many hours can a person donate blood after drinking half a bottle of beer. I have donated blood, thirteen hours after I drank the beer.

A:There are no standard criteria regarding consumption of alcohol and blood donation; volume of alcohol consumed or period before blood donation. Evidence of alcohol abuse is a definite cause for rejection of a donor. We advice that a blood donor refrain from taking alcoholic drinks on the day he donates blood (both before and after) i.e. a 24 hour period.
