Q: I am on a birth control pill for the past few months. I want to know whether withdrawal bleeding each month is sufficient indication that I am not pregnant since it is supposed to be different from normal periods?
A:Generally speaking, yes. The other things that your need to be aware of are: Have you missed any pills? If you miss one day you can take two the next day. If you miss more than one day, then all bets are off. You must use a back up method like condoms and contraceptive foams gels etc. till your next period. After the period you can resume the pills as before. Most women who get pregnant while on the pills, have skipped some days.
