Q: I am a married woman, age 34, my husband's age is 40. Sometimes his sperms are like thick ice cream and sometimes they are like water. What are the causes that the sperm differs in quantity? Are both the quality of sperms good for fertilization?
A:Problems in fertility are best solved by specialists who do specific tests such as sperm counts in the male partners ejaculate. The interest in improving fertility has led over the years to a great deal of mythology and inappropriate advice. Thus, it is best to rely on the established science of modern medical specialists once other options have been tried and failed. The description of the individual sperm fluid is of minor importance whereas the laboratory examination may yield critical information.
