Does my son need a CT scan?

Q: My 4 years old son fell from a 10 feet high balcony. He got injured on the left side of the head above his ear. Some bleeding from nose and mouth followed immediately. He got two stitches. He was hospitalised for two days and doctors declared him fit and fine. No vomiting took place. Does he require a CT scan too? There are no other problems with the kid.

A:If your child did not lose consciousness, have a fit, bleeding from ears, recurrent vomiting, neck pain, swelling around the eyes, or leakage of clear fluid from nose or ears; then a CT can be avoided.
