Does any company offer health insurance after a disease is diagnosed?

Q: I came to know about a public sector insurance company, which makes insurance policy for medical treatment after the patient is diagnosed for an illness. What is the name of that insurance company? My relative has been diagnosed for bone cancer and bone marrow operation is expected to cost approximately Rs. 15 lakhs.

A:There is no retail health insurance policy that you can take after having been diagnosed with a disease. If that was possible every one who would need to undergo an expensive treatment would take a health insurance policy before beginning to get treated. This applies to both PSU as well as Private insurers.
