Does a scratch from a crow cause any harm?

Dr Irwin Ziment

Q: Does a scratch made by a crow cause any harm? I was scratched by a crow and it flew off. Please advise.

A:Although birds spread several diseases the infection is generally caused by inhalation of the dust that they leave from their droppings. A scratch from a wild bird will only cause a mild superficial infection as would any other dirty scratch.
