Q: There is a polio outbreak in some states of India and a case was detected in Maharashtra as well. If a child has been given polio drops every time the drive takes place, does the child still stand a risk from this outbreak?

A:Pulse polio is the way to eradicate polio. The child who has received the vaccine is protected against the disease, however the wild virus may still survive and affect the unimmunized children causing the disease.
