Do I need to get myself vaccinated for dog bite?

Q: I was bitten by a dog (pet dog but not vaccinated for more than two years) two days back. There was no blood but the teeth marks are there. I got one tetanus injection the next morning as advised by doctor. Do I need to get myself vaccinated? Will it affect the result that I am going for vaccination after two days? Please advise.

A:If you have had a full course of tetanus toxoid followed by a booster every ten years you are well covered for tetanus. If the dog is a pet and supervised, it is less likely to have rabies and if the dog is well you need not worry.
