Q: My husband has high blood pressure and is very fond of chillies. Recently, I heard that consuming green chillies leads to a further increase in one's blood pressure. Is this true?
A:Green chillies will not increase the blood pressure. Raw green chillies are full of vitamin C, which is good for you. On the other hand, they are also an irritant to the mouth, the digestive and the intestinal tract. On a long-term basis, they could seriously aggravate the mucosa and cause stomach ulcers.
