Can thyroid patients take green tea?

Q: I have a thyroid problem and I am taking Eltroxin 100mcg 1 and 1/2 tablet for it every morning. Is green tea harmful for thyroid patients?

A:There is no evidence that normal amounts of green tea affects thyroid function or absorption of thyroxine.
