Q: My 9-month-old son is keeping good health. His oral polio vaccine and measles vaccine were supposed to be given last month. But the doctor refused to give him the measles vaccine along with the polio vaccine, saying that these two should not be given together. So he was only given the polio vaccine. The measles vaccine has been postponed to next month. Why is such a long gap of 2 months required?
A:Both the vaccines could have been given together last month. As a gap of one month has already passed after the polio vaccination, you can give the measles vaccine now.
