Q: 1. Is jaundice also called Hepatitis A ? 2. Is it true that patients suffering from hepatitis C cannot donate blood? 3. Can patients suffering from hepatitis A and B donate blood?

A:1. Hepatitis A is a viral infection caused by the hepatitis A virus. Jaundice means yellow discolouration of the skin and conjunctiva (white of the eyes). Patients with hepatitis A may or may not develop jaundice as a result of this infection.2. Yes 3. Patients with hepatitis A and B can donate blood once the infection is totally cleared.
