Can one have normal sex after prostate removal?

Q: Please advise if a person after undergoing surgery for removal of the prostate gland and will he have a normal sex life? Will he have normal erection & ejaculations?

A:Most men who have their prostate removed suffer no sexual problems. Some men can experience some problems with maintaining an erection after surgery but ejaculation is not affected. Some types of surgery carry more risk. Discuss this with your surgeon. Of most importance is your general health, particularly blood pressure, alcohol intake and medications.
