Q: I am a 18-years-old male. I have cylindrical power of 1.25 in both my eyes. I would like to know if my spectacles can get removed permanently and my eyes get normal as everybody elses. Does this entail some kind of surgery? Please suggest.
A:This much of cylindrical power is not much and if your vision without glasses is not too bad and you are not getting significant headaches, then you may not wear glasses for as long as you like or wear glasses only for the time you are using your eyes like reading, computer use or watching TV. If you are not keen to wear glasses, you can wear contact lenses. Any surgery or laser to correct this much of defect may have risks and unpredictability.
