Can an allergy lead to ear ache?

Q: I am 19 years old with a history of deviated nasal septum surgery. Before surgery I was highly allergic to dust. I had symptoms of rhinitis, running nose and blockage. After surgery it has greatly reduced but now when I play volleyball I have started having pain in my ears. Also there is unequal pressure distribution. First I thought it was because of cold but this has gone on for over 2 weeks now. Can this be because of an allergic reaction?
