Can alprax be taken for long periods?

Q: I am 54 year and I can sleep with alprax 0.25 for about four hours. Please advise if I should take some other pill for sleeping.

A:It is very dangerous to take alprazolam (Alprax) daily because, apart from side effects (such as loss of memory), there is every chance of addiction. Alprazolam is meant for only very short-term use. You can try a sleep-inducer such as melatonin (Eternex by Dabur).
