Can a history of jaundice prevent me from working abroad?

Q: I was diagnosed with obstructive jaundice 3 years ago. I underwent pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy. Biopsy showed a malignant glandular tumour composed of moderately differentiated glands arising from the ampullary mucosa and invading the submucosa upto the superficial part of the muscularis propria. I am keeping fine since surgery and subsequent CT scans show no recurrence. However, there was a large abdominal incisional hernia, which developed post surgery. This was rectified by surgery later on. Presently I am working in an MNC and intend to apply for a better prospect abroad. Can my medical history be a deterrent in that regard? What precautions shall prevent a recurrence?

A:Employers abroad cannot discriminate based on your medical history. Only problem would be getting health insurance for yourself, unless you work for a large employer, as insurance companies may refuse to cover a preexisting condition.
