Q: I am 49 years old and weigh 70 kg. Can a diabetic patient (borderline) consume nuts (like walnut, almond, cashew nut and even the lowly placed groundnuts? If yes, how often and in what quantity?

A:Yes, patients with diabetes can consume nuts. However, nuts do contain a lot of calories. Hence the calories need to be accounted for before consuming these. For your height and weight I don't think consuming nuts would be a good idea.
