Q: My aunt just had cataract surgery a week ago. She cannot see; the doctor diagnosed a blood clot in her eye. What are the chances of this clot being absorbed, or is there an correct surgery to enable her to see.
A:It is unclear whether the blood clot is in the vitreous, at the retinal level or in the anterior segment. Most blood clots tend to abseil within a few weeks. Occasionally surgical intervention is required to remove this blood. It is advisable for the patient to seek the opinion of a specialist for further information and clarification of the present status.
