Q: Is it feasible to undergo total knee replacement of both the legs? The patient is a 55 year old female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 92 kgs. She is a confirmed patient of osteoarthritis for the last 10 years, with total damage and deformity in both the legs [concave shape]. Kindly advise.

A:It is very much feasible to undergo knee replacements on both the knees. The points to consider are the set up, and other factors apart from patient profile - any history of cardiovascular disease, or other risk factors for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), etc.Bilateral knee replacement is an acceptable procedure if there are no other major issues.
