Lose Weight Like Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan - Here's Her Secret!
Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to return to the big screen with Shashanka Ghosh's Veere Di Wedding. The 36-year-old actress has often been spotted religiously working out post her pregnancy. Click here to find out the secret behind this phenomenal transformation.
Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who is managing Kareena's weight loss program has attributed the reason for the latter's quick return to shape to a newfound energy and vigor after childbirth. She also says that Kareena has always practiced Yoga, specifically Surya Namaskar and Cardio. This has helped her sculpt a fit body sooner as there was lesser work to do.
This is not to say that any fitness regimen to lose weight after pregnancy is easy. You will have to muster a lot of strength to get yourself back on the treadmill. But it is easier to follow a dietary and exercise routine after childbirth if you already have an experience of following routines previously.
Here are 5 ways to lose the post-pregnancy weight faster, following the footsteps of Mrs. Khan -
1) Watch Your Eating Habits
Calories can accumulate quickly in your body during pregnancy. A typical Indian diet which involves ghee-laden parathas and dry fruits is especially rich in fat. Moreover, eating your meals at the right time and at short intervals will help you avoid unnecessary junk food.
Another tip to take from Mrs. Khan's fitness regime is consuming tall glasses of milk. According to the celebrity dietician and Kareena's too - Rujuta Diwekar, this helps in liquidating fat from the stubborn areas of the body and makes up for the loss of calcium during pregnancy.
2) Continue Exercising
While it may seem a monumental task to bring yourself to exercising after the tiring experience of delivery, it is important you move your muscles. Pilates and yoga are two go-to exercise that your body will adapt to easily and help you get rid of the body fat. At least 20-30 minutes of regular walking can help immensely. Kareena apparently started exercising only 40 days after the surgery and you can too. And remember it always helps to get a workout partner.

3) Know Your Body
In an interview, Kareena mentions how she did not give up on rice to lose weight as it is her favorite food. All she did was limit its consumption and paired it with other foods with low calories. So a major takeaway for all moms-to-be is that you don't have to rely on fat-free and diet foods that may do more harm than good. Instead, eating wholesome meals that involve fresh and homemade food should be encouraged. Anything that you knew worked for your body before your pregnancy will work now also.
4) Give Yourself Time
Trying to lose your weight overnight can be extremely damaging to your body. An unrealistic diet can cause major health problems like thyroid in the mother. Forcing your body to slow down its natural metabolism rate can also cause hair-fall and make you gain the weight back in less than three months.
You have to be disciplined and regular in performing the exercises and eating the specified portions. But it does not mean that you resort to drastic measures for quick weight loss.
5) Follow The Basics
It is advisable to work out in normal temperatures rather than an air conditioned room. Also, home remedies can help you out in common problems like a drop in blood pressure or hunger pangs. According to Kareena, it was gud and ghee that helped her survive the lack of energy.
Losing the post-partum weight is no cake-walk, but with these tips from Kareena in hand, you are all set to bid farewell to the sagging weight around your tummy and arms post your delivery.
