Q. I am a 24 years old man suffering from constipation for the last year. The doctor told me that it’s the initial stage of fissure. I experience pain in the rectum. For the last 2 months, I am taking Sitz bath but still feel the pain. I also have gastric problem. How do I get rid of rectal pain and gastric troubles?

A.  I would recommend that you take a high fibre diet, and some Movicol 1 sachet every other day to keep your bowels moving without constipation. If you are still having rectal pain and fissure, Nitroglycerine ointment, local application will help. You should also see a Colorectal Surgeon if things don't get better with medical treatment.
