What does my thyroid test indicate?

Q: I am a 27 years old person suffering from hyperthyroidism for the last two years. But now it is normal for the last six months. Recently, I underwent thyroid test which showed T3 - 91.75 µg/dl, T4 - 9.70 µg/dl and TSH - 1.01 µIU/ml. Usually, I get thyroid test done after every 2-3 months. What does my test report indicate?

A:The reports suggest that you are in remission (free of disease) but there are chances of relapse which you will know if you have symptoms of thyrotoxicosis such as loss of weight despite good diet and appetite, nervousness, tremors, sweating, heat intolerance, loose stools, lack of concentration, anxiety etc. Whenever you get these symptoms you should get your thyroid profile done otherwise I would suggest you to get tests done once in 3 months for first year and then at 6-12 month intervals.
