Will a missed abortion create problems in future pregnancy?
Q: My wife got pregnant in December but after 75 days she saw a minor clot of blood from the urinary tract. She went to the doctor who advised her to take rest and gave her an injection. Five days after the ultrasound was done, the doctor said that the baby died in the womb 3 days back. Immediately an abortion was done. What is the cause of baby dying in the womb? My wife is blaming me that my sperm was not strong enough due to which the baby died. Will there be problems in future pregnancy?
A:It is nobody's fault, nature is responsible for eliminating a pregnancy that may not have been normal. For the next time you need to undergo blood tests to determine the cause, as advised by your specialist. Can also take folic acid 5 mg/day for 3-6 months before planning the next pregnancy. Almost 10% of first pregnancies end in abortion. In the next pregnancy care, treatment of the cause if detected and early ultrasound, light work and abstinence during the high risk time can be tried.
