It has a long list of adverse effects such as sleepiness, dizziness, low BP, dry mouth, gastric disorders, liver disorders, weight gain, low white cell count, increased heart beat etc. However some of the side effects are sinister such as high blood sugar leading to ketoacidosis, coma and even death; Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome and Tardive dyskinesia.
